This job was typical in many ways of our sports work – background stories, local colour, athlete / coach / public interviews, isos of players in races, mix-zone / kiss-and-cry, stand-ups, beauty shots for supers, etc. Sometimes I do editing and feeds as well as or instead of shooting. The difference at this venue was we had NHK following me around (with CBC permission), for a 20-minutes documentary in the series “Hello Nippon,” about a foreign camera op / director based in Japan for decades, yours truly.
